Join us for this very special event designed to help you… Live your best life, Learn to develop your potential, Lead so others will follow…and Succeed at pursuing your passion.

Leadership and Success are about more than “position and money”… they’re about creating an environment where passion and creativity can flourish, about being exposed to exciting ideas, learning new information, and gaining a fresh perspective about things you already know.

Whether you’re climbing the corporate ladder, following your entrepreneurial spirit, contributing your talents to a non-profit organization, or thinking about “what’s next”, these informative, educational, and fun seminars, presented by distinguished experts in their field, will enhance your personal and professional life.

Dr. Micah Sadigh, noted author and Professor of Psychology at Cedar Crest College, has conducted extensive research in the areas of relationships and interpersonal communication.

Back by popular demand, Dr. Sadigh was last year’s most highly-rated Power presenter. This year he’ll explore the latest scientific findings on the role of relationships in enhancing health, well-being, and promoting creativity, particularly in terms of handling non-verbal behavior in close and intimate relationships.

Dr. Elizabeth Meade, Acting Provost at Cedar Crest College, has been published on a wide range of topics including using community service to teach ethics. Her research includes feminist philosophy and gender studies.

Dr. Meade’s “(Re)definition” will cause you to think about how "woman" has been defined through male - dominated institutions throughout Western civilization and the processes by which we can come to redefine ourselves…on our own terms. If you’ve ever been in a male dominated environment that’s made you feel intimidated or out of place, you’ll learn there are ways to be yourself and stand your ground.

Gaetan Giannini, MBA, Chair, Dept of Business, Management & Economics at Cedar Crest College, is an author and entrepreneur with over 15 years of technology-based experience in sales and marketing management.

Professor Giannini’s presentation explores the six factors of influence used by companies, co-workers, and even your kids to sway the way you buy and behave. You’ll be fascinated by the examples of how corporate America manipulates your decisions. Discover how to use these factors to your advantage and defend against them when necessary.

Elizabeth Ortiz, MA, Assistant Professor of Communication at Cedar Crest College is an expert on representations of race and gender in the media, as well as co-owner of a restaurant where she directs marketing & social media.

“Outdated and inaccurate” is how Professor Ortiz feels about the “Representations of women in mainstream advertising”. Her session encourages participants to become more media literate by examining the representations of women & girls in media and advertising from the 1950's - 1970's to see how far the roles of women have progressed, or perhaps how they have stayed the same.

Karen Deklinski Deputy Secretary for Administration for the Pennsylvania Department of Public Welfare, helps to manage an agency with nearly 17,000 employees and a budget of 27 billion dollars, making it the largest state agency in the United States.

Secretary Deklinski’s remarks, titled, "How does she do it & who does she know?" may sound like a movie but it’s actually a reflection of an extraordinary career that has spanned business, politics, entrepreneurship, and motherhood. Karen will share her insight on how to successfully pursue multiple career and life paths, through the wit and humor of her own experiences.
