Since we’re all about networking, one of our newest innovations is the creation of a Power Of Women Facebook page. Women from around the country are finding us and joining on online. The Power Of Women internet radio show on Voice America Network, is a great source of entertainment and information. Power Founder, Pamela Varkony hosts this one hour online, live call-in program each Thursday afternoon at 2:00 p.m. Eastern time, 11:00 a.m. Pacific, Fall through Spring; the show is currently on summer hiatus. “Power Of Women” features fascinating women, from successful entrepreneurs to savvy financial advisors, from philanthropists to fashion gurus and beauty consultants. Power Of Women enjoyed tremendous success with its first “partnership” event at the 2009 U.S. Women’s Open. Attendees had the opportunity to network with each other while enjoying the comfort of the Saucon Creek Club and being inspired by Robin Roberts and some of the best women athletes in the world. We will continue to look for partnerships that offer such unique opportunities.
With an eye to the current economic situation, the Power Advisory Committee has decided to not hold our signature “Annual Fall Luncheon & Networking Event” this year. Under consideration is the hosting of a “networking cocktail party” in October that would still provide the chance for us come together but in a more casual atmosphere. Hopefully, the world will find its new “normal” in time for us to resume full-scale events in 2010.
As we move in to our second decade, “Power Of Women” looks forward to continuing to provide you with increased ways to expand your horizons and maximize your options. After all, real "power" lies not in the fact that as women we now have limitless options as to how we choose to live our lives; our power lies in how we make our choices and pursue those options.
